Cincinnati Bengals Record 2007: 7 Wins and 9 Wins
The Bengals came into the 2007 season looking very strong on paper. It had not been that long since the team had been in the playoffs, and they seemed to still have a strong nucleus of players. The season opener was live on Monday Night Football before a sold out Paul Brown Stadium. The scene was set for the season, and the Bengals did not disappoint. In a great game that came down to the end, the Bengals started the season with a big win against the Baltimore Ravens 27-20.
Unfortunately the Bengals proceeded to lose the next six of seven games against team like the Cleveland, Seattle, New England, and Kansas City. The team’s only win came against the New York Jets 38-31. The team quickly fell to 2-6 on the season. Even though the team rallied and ended the season winning five of their final eight games, it was not enough to get them even close to making the playoffs.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh tied for the lead in reception in the NFL. Houshmandzadeh tied for the league’s best with a team-record 112 catches. T.J also led the Cincinnati Bengals with the most touchdowns (12). T.J.’s counterpart on the other side of the offense, Wide Receiver Chad Johnson also had a standout season with 1440 receiving yards. This broke his own club record/ mark of 1432 receiving yards which he had set in the 2005 season. Chad Johnson ended the season third in the AFC. This made the dynamic receiving duo the best in terms of production in the league again for a third straight season.
Scored 380 points (23.8/g), 11th of 32 in the NFL.
Allowed 385 points (24.1/g), 24th.
Differential of -5 points (-0.3/g), 17th.
