Bengals Defense gives up 51 and loses to the Browns, despite great effort from Bengals offense! Bengals 45 Browns 51 The Bengals defense resembled a back yard little league football team on Sunday when it gave up 51 points in a losing effort to the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. Say what you want about the great defensive performance we saw on Monday Night Football because that defense was no where to be found on Sunday in Cleveland.
Consistency is always big in the NFL and today the Bengals Defense was consistent. Consistently missing tackles, consistently giving up big plays, consistently having no pressure on the Browns Quarterback, and simply out right consistently bad! Embarrassing is a better word to describe the performance put on by the Bengals Defense in Cleveland today!
On the other side of the ball Carson Palmer threw for a career high six touchdowns and Chad Johnson tore it up with over 200 yards of receiving and by catching two touchdown passes. Johnson passed Isaac Curtis to become the all time Cincinnati Bengals leader in receptions yards. Rudi and TJ also had touchdown catches for the Bengals. TJ had 2 today. It was just the third time in NFL history that two QBs threw five TD passes in the same game. Oakland's Tom Flores (6) and Houston's George Blanda (5) both did it on Dec. 22, 1963, and Billy Kilmer of New Orleans (6) and Charley Johnson of St. Louis (6) also did on Nov, 5, 1969. The Bengals and Browns combined for 96 total points, 1,085 total offensive yards. There were just five punts the entire game. It was a high scoring shoot out from the first snap. Unfortunately the Bengals were on the short end of the final score. The Bengals left their fans guessing again today. No one really knows who the real Bengals are at this point. Where does the Bengals defense go from here? We have no idea. Growlzone.com Cincinnati Bengals News |
