{mosimage}The Cincinnati Bengals are back.  The 2007 Bengals will report to preseason camp in Georgetown Kentucky tomorrow.  Despite the excitement in the air regarding this Bengals team, there is still lot of question marks going into camp.

Will Odell Thurman be with the team?  He is waiting to hear from the league on his reinstatement.  He would certainly be a huge upgrade on the Bengals defense if he was able to rejoin the team, and perform at the same level he did in the 2005 season.

The Bengals have yet to sign any of their seven rookies to a deal.  The word is that some of them are close to designing they are just working on final contract verbiage.  Leon Hall has not signed, and he would become one of many Bengals first round draft choices that missed a portion of camp because he was not signed.  The last Bengal’s first round choice that did not miss any camp at all was Carson Palmer.

The Defense:  There are still question on the defensive side of the ball.  The Bengals need to sure up their defense in order to be a real contender.  They have to have consistent play out of their defensive back field, and as usual they need to do better pass rushing.

The Bengals offense:  The Offense needs to get back to being the machine it was.  The offense needs to focus on putting points on the board consistently.  Carson Palmer is one of the keys here.  Palmer could have a huge year.  Look for him to be in the hunt for league MVP if all goes as planned.  The Bengals need to find a third receiver to replace Chris Henry who even if he does come back after being suspended for eight games, he will still be in Marvin’s dog house for at least three to four more if not the entire season.

Interesting battles to watch will be at Cornerback and Running Back.  Keep en eye in the rookies in these positions, the may give the starters a run for their money including Running Back Rudi Johnson.  Kenny Irons could be a great surprise this season.
