Taking a long-term view, even for a winless team that fell to 0-4 Sunday, Bengals coaches and doctors decided to rest quarterback Carson Palmer against the Browns.

Hall Well On His Way E-mail
Written by Jeff Moore

He stands 5’11 and half.  He can run a 40 yard dash in 4.38 seconds.  He played his college football as a starting Cornerback for three years at the University of Michigan, and he may be the next big thing in Cincinnati.  From all reports, Leon Hall is not disappointing anyone in Bengals World.  Not only is he extremely athletic, but he is a smart and approaches his business in a very professional manner.

Despite he was rarely tested in college due to his ability to shut opposing receivers  down, and the knock on him for his closing speed when playing up against fast receivers, Leon Hall is just what the Bengals need.  He has a definite skill set, and a propensity to get to where the play is.  He has been recognized as a solid tackler by many of the so called draft experts.  Hall has good size for a Cornerback.  He has the ability to close in on the ball fast and show great timing.  He has a talent for being in a position to make a play.

Since arriving in Cincinnati, Hall has impressed both on the filed and off.  Leon Hall appears to be the whole package, and with training camp right around the corner, Hall should be in the mix and competing for a starting role with the team.

The key to Hall’s success may be repetitions and that is what he is getting with Jonathan Joseph out due to injury right now.   Hall successfully made it through the rookie camp and voluntary camp as well.  Now Leon Hall must beat out Deltha O’Neil for the starting Cornerback spot in training camp and in the preseason.  No one knows for sure which Deltha O'Neil will show up the Pro Bowl Cornerback or the Guy who played Cornerback in 2006 for the Bengals.  You know the one who ended up in Marvin Lewis’s dog house.  Either way, Leon Hall will have to really make an impact to break the starting lineup as a rookie Cornerback.

Leon Hall will defiantly be a player to watch in the 2007 Season.  The question is how much will we see of him?  That is up to Mr. Hall.
