Injuries are the story of the year for the Cincinnati Bengals. With the offensive line continually shuffling like a deck of cards, the rest of the team has been hurting too. We’ve lost our first 3 picks in the 2005 NFL draft, Pollack (Neck), Thurman (Suspension), Henry (Suspension), and 7th round pick Tab Perry (Injury). This week Marvin Lewis has said that Kelly Washington is inactive and Antonio Chatman is nursing an abdominal strain. The receiving corps is hurting just as much as the O-line and the LB corps. To fix this gap the Bengals brought back WR Peter Warrick for a workout on Tuesday morning. Warrick is 12th on the Bengals all-time receiving list, and could be a serviceable punt returner for a few weeks. Warrick didn’t turn out to be the 4th overall pick we thought he would in 2000, but he would add some depth to a banged up squad. Don’t forget to vote for the Bengals on the Campbell’s Click for Cans 2006 website. Campbell’s will donate food to the winning city’s local free store food bank. We’re currently in second place, behind Bill Coward’s Squealers, and we never want to lose to them.
